Lemon Posset

A lemon posset is probably one of the easiest desserts there is. Dating back to 15th century this traditional English set cream dessert is luxurious and impressive for such minimal effort. Just 3 ingredients make up this quick citrus dessert.

Ingredients

  • 600ml x Double Cream
  • 200g x Caster Sugar
  • 3 x Lemons (juice and zest)

Receipe - Lemon Posset - TOUTS

Ingredients

  • 600ml x Double Cream
  • 200g x Caster Sugar
  • 3 x Lemons (juice and zest)

Method

  1. Put the cream and caster sugar in a pan and heat gently to a simmer then turn of the heat.

  2. Add the lemon juice and zest to the cream, immediately the cream will thicken.

  3. Divide the mix evenly into 6 glasses and chill for 1 hour before enjoying.

Tips
  • Serve with some shortbread of biscotti, fresh or poached fruits also work great.
  • Lasts for 3 days in the fridge so you can make it well before hand.
