Easter Biscuits

Makes 12 - 15 35 minutes

These delicious spiced biscuits make great gifts, try making them with the kids for a fun Easter activity!

ingredients

  • 100g x Caster Sugar
  • 1 x Egg
  • ½ tsp x Baking Powder
  • 80g x Currants
  • 100g x Soft Butter
  • 250g x Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp x Milk
  • 1 x Egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp x Mixed Spice
  • 50g x Mixed Peel
  • Extra caster sugar to top

Receipe - Easter Biscuits - TOUTS

ingredients

  • 100g x Caster Sugar
  • 1 x Egg
  • ½ tsp x Baking Powder
  • 80g x Currants
  • 100g x Soft Butter
  • 250g x Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp x Milk
  • 1 x Egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp x Mixed Spice
  • 50g x Mixed Peel
  • Extra caster sugar to top
  1. Heat oven 190C/170C Fan/Gas Mark 5.

  2. Beat the sugar and butter together until fluffy.

  3. Add the egg and mix for a few minutes.

  4. Fold in the flour, baking powder and mixed spice.

  5. Gently add the milk to form a dough.

  6. Then fold in the currants

  7. Tip out onto a lightly floured work surface and roll to about 5mm thick.

  8. Cut out using a cutter (you can use any shape)

  9. Bake on a lined baking tray for 18 minutes until they just start to turn golden.

  10. Remove from oven, sprinkle with caster sugar and allow to cool on a rack.
