As you all know, we are on a mission to provide one million meals to people in need in the local area. Every single day, monetary contributions are put into our MADL (Making a Difference Locally) fund for every local product, Co-op or Heritage product, and carrier bag purchased. Also, not forgetting all of the money that goes into our change pots at the till point! This then allows us to be able to work and donate to these fantastic causes.
FareShare South West is a local independent charity, forming part of the wider FareShare network. Just like all other FareShare regional charities, FareShare South West are on a mission to fight hunger, whilst also tackling food waste, from Gloucestershire down to Cornwall. They work with many other charities, schools, and food kitchens to be able to provide healthy, delicious ingredients to families and children in need around the area.
After visiting the warehouse in Bristol, it really made us really realise the scale this team are working on. The amount of food that was in the warehouse was amazing and to think that all of it will be going out to families in need within that week is fantastic.
We are very proud to announce now that we have now teamed up with Fare Share on a monthly basis. This month we would have provided the charity with funds to provide an amazing 4,000 meals. Over time, this figure will only rise and we are excited to be working with such a hard-working charity with amazing goals and great ethos.
‘We are delighted to partner with TOUT’S, a South West company that truly cares about our local community and its environmental impact. With support from Tout’s we will enable food for an incredible 14,000 meals to be delivered in the next five months- food that has never been more needed as food poverty levels increase. We are so grateful to TOUT’S and their customers for helping us get more quality surplus food to those in need.’
