Twisted Oak

Twisted Oak Brewery is an award-winning micro-brewery nestled just outside Wrington in North Somerset. Established in 2012 by Keith Hayles who left his IT consultancy career to turn his home-brewing hobby into a community-focused business, he was later joined by Deb, who handles the finances, and Simon Gait—bringing expertise in sustainable energy and transport.

Based on a working farm at Yeowood Farm, the brewery handcrafts real ales using traditional open-topped fermenters, fresh yeast harvested from each brew, and top-quality malt and hops, including locally sourced varieties where possible.

Sustainability is central to their ethos. Since opening they have brewed every drop using 100 percent renewable energy. They generate more power from on-site solar panels than they use, reuse water and heat from brewing, deliver most of their beer within 35 miles, often using a zero emission electric van and recycle grain and hops in collaboration with local farms.
